Mubasher: Electricite de France SA (EDF) on Monday revealed that it plans to launch a new renewable electricity supply scheme to facilitate battery charging for electric vehicles (EVs) or hybrid cars.

The new plan will allow EV owners, and customers of Vert Electrique Auto, to recharge their cars at home through using a green energy supply with a fixed price during three years, the company announced.

The service will also be offered by EDF’s subsidiary Sodetrel through roaming recharge stations.

France-based carmaker Renault is also supporting this scheme, EDF concluded.
